December is an excellent month to escape from the routine, end the year traveling and start the new one on the road. The participants of the Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego Tour were not the only ones who wanted to experience an adventure at these longitudes. Marco and Isabel, he Italian and she Spanish, have in fact chosen to take part in our community of Riders by planning a trip as a couple with the Motorcycle Rental service offered by Ride True ADV.
Ride True ADV offers all enthusiasts the opportunity to discover by motorcycle those distant countries they have always dreamed of. All this thanks to a network of specialized partners whose fleets include the most recent models and the most suitable equipment in order to offer a safe and tailor-made motorcycle experience.
Marco and Isabel have opted for the Motorcycle Rental of a BMW R1200GS Adventure equipped with side bags, tank bag and waterproof bag. Their trip lasted 17 days starting from Santiago and developed through Chile and Northern Argentina.
In this case the couple decided to start and finish the trip in the Chilean capital, but Ride True ADV also offers the possibility of picking up the bike in one of the other main cities of the country visited and returning it by choosing from as many optional cities, this to allow you not to alter your travel itinerary and make the most of the days available.
Marco and Isabel prepared their own itinerary with great satisfaction. As soon as they left they discovered the wonderful Andean pass between Santiago and Mendoza (Los Caracoles) characterized by its 25 curves, some of 180° that enter the Túnel del Cristo Redentor at almost 4000 meters above sea level.
They then touched Barreal, Cafayate, Ruta 40; they almost always remained at altitude until reaching the peak of 4200 meters during the climb on the Jama Pass. They spent New Year’s Eve in Chile. They experienced firsthand the Atacama Desert, the driest on the planet. From Antofagasta to Chañaral: pure desert. And at the point where the road offered the best hairpin bends of the Pan-American Highway, with rain and fog, they even risked running out of gas, but they made it.
They were dirt kilometers, asphalt, at the top of the Andes, in the desert, climatic challenges and also significant altitudes. But as Marco says, they were 4733 wonderful kilometers.
